The RD-Connect annual meeting took place in Berlin on the 1st and 2nd of May 2017. During the two days, the project partners presented the project achievements from the last year and discussed the strategies for sustaining the project outputs beyond the EU funding period. The meeting was also the place of the premiere of the official RD-Connect video, which in lay language explains what the project does for the rare disease research.
The meeting was held back-to-back with the joint NeurOmics and EURenOmics final meetings, on the 4th and 5th of May. On Wednesday 3rd of May the three projects hosted a joint Outreach Day, including sessions dedicated to key cross-cutting topics in rare disease research: data sharing, diagnostics and therapy. The conference was attended by patients, policy makers, researchers and pharma companies. The event included training sessions on the RD-Connect genomics platform and the use of the Sample Catalogue for biobanks.
