In November 2014, the RD-Connect Linked Data and Ontology Task Force organised the first BYOD workshop brought together owners of (rare disease) patient registries and brought together data owners with linked data experts. The aim was to train patient registry experts on how to make their data interoparable (linkable) for cross-resource questions, while collaboratively making selected data interoperable. The primary audience was the rare disease community. The event was co-organised by RD-Connect, Elixir, and BioMedBridges.
Two training webinars available online prepared participants for the event.
